Bust Your Rival’s Bones, and Bust Open His Wallet at Xbox Madden 10

You may need a crash course in football video game history, if hearing about all the innovations and improvements that Xbox Madden 10 offers still hasn't moved you. On one hand, it's probably not too cool to say Xbox Madden 10 is great, just because it stands out next to crap from 30 years ago. Then again, those side-by-side comparisons help underscore the fact that Xbox Madden 10 is a truly top-notch football video game. Certainly, there was a huge, untapped market for football video games, when the first generation of console games made their debut. The bad news, though, was that video game technology was still in the "post-Pong" phase, and the games reflected those limitations. If you've ever seen old ads for this one, the creators truly believed that it had "all the excitement" of the real deal. They didn't even try to make those guys look like people. What are you gonna do? The photo may be underwhelming, but the game itself is even more so. From a technological standpoint, things were so basic, that multiple players moving at once meant that the only thing extreme about this game was the flickering of the players. Audio was as awful as the video. As you'd probably guessed, there wasn't a scrolling screen for this one. However, another participant in video game consoles entered the fray, and their football video game scored a touchdown. A serious effort was made with this next one, in order to give gamers a football video game closer to the real thing. However, it was still a bit primitive.

Hardcore gamers were pretty excited by that one, as it really heralded the beginning of sports video games - but it was still just an early entry in the field. It would take a few more years before anything like that took place. The next level in football video games had been reached, and still we're seeing a following for this one. If you were to ask a gamer from the 90s what their favorite sports video game was, this one would crack the top 5 list.

It's relatively simple to see why it was such a mega-popular hit - before this, nobody really attempted to make a football video game that was this sophisticated. With the improvements in both the sound and the graphics, gamers saw this as the first and last word in video football games. Today, there's even a new incarnation of the game, and with that is a renewed reverence for it. That being said, as much as everyone digs that one, Xbox Madden 10 is in an entirely different league.

Hard to believe how much these games have improved since they first came on the scene. So, yeah, no point in calling out the old football games. No need to keep harping on it. Those games had their weaknesses, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be playing Xbox Madden 10 today, so they did get the ball rolling. Xbox Madden 10 is the future of football video games, and the video game community is psyched that the future is looking so bright. The reviews are as positive as the reaction from the gamers themselves - it's a hit with the fans as well as the video game sites. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. Xbox Madden 10 is another monster hit for EA Sports, though we think you could predict that one.

To hell with the people who bag on Xbox Madden 10 - it truly is the best football video game out there. Xbox Madden 10 isn't just a great Xbox sports video game - it's an all-around great Xbox video game. With Xbox Madden 10, the debate over the best football video game can be laid to rest. Better still, the true gamers know that this is the arena which will separate the wheat from the chaff, after you play video games for money. The stakes have been raised, and Xbox Madden 10 maniacs now can take each other on for some serious cash. After you've really given yourself a crash course and learned all the rules, you'll score touchdown after touchdown - and make off with your rival's bankroll as well.
